Anera at the start of the 2026 Rotterdam Harbour Run

On Sunday 4 October, a passionate Anera team took to the starting line of the Harbour Run Rotterdam. For the sixth year running, we took on the challenge: running, climbing and scrambling through the port of Rotterdam.

The Harbour Run is an obstacle course through the Rotterdam harbour area. Participants choose a distance of 6 or 10 kilometres and encounter obstacles along the way, such as containers, cranes, tunnels and climbing sections. Teamwork is key: you may move faster on your own, but it’s only by working together that you reach the finish line.

Our team demonstrated what team spirit really means. Colleagues motivated one another, helped each other over the tougher obstacles and crossed the finish line with a fair bit of muscle ache, but above all with great enjoyment and pride.

For Anera, the sporting weekend began as early as Saturday, when colleagues attended the Moerdijk Open Port Day. A day later, the team was back in the ports in full force: this time not behind a desk or on the shop floor, but amongst the containers in Rotterdam.

The Harbour Run has now become a firm tradition for Anera. It brings colleagues from different teams together, boosts morale and shows that teamwork works just as well outside of work. We are therefore already looking forward to the seventh edition.
