Our History

Anera BV was founded by Gerard van Rijen in 1987 as a trading company in warehouse equipment. Activities consisted of purchasing and sales, but also designing and modifying steel parts. As a mechanical engineer, Gerard is strongly focused on technical solutions, which means solving customer challenges and the production side has become an increasingly important part. Gerard could make what the customer needed.

Cold-rolled mezzanine floors

In the early 1990s, many mezzanine floors were still built traditionally, with mainly hot-rolled steel beams and/or wooden beams. While standardisation, modularity and volume were commonplace in the world of shelving, this was not yet the case in the field of mezzanines. By combining the knowledge and experience of both markets, Anera brought these features into the mezzanine floor market. For instance, we were the first supplier providing standard oval holes in our profiles for sprinkler ducts and building services. Today, the specialisation is entirely on mezzanine structures and related products. Anera BV is one of the few manufacturers of mezzanine floors in Europe with its own uniquely designed building system based on our Euro profile.
